Team Drew Keegan - Mother's Day Walk for Peace Fundraising Page
Please join our family's efforts to support the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute (LDBPI) through the 28th Mother's Day Walk for Peace. We will be walking on that day - Sunday, May 12, 2024 - and hope you and yours can join our team--for the walk (which starts in Dorchester'sTown Field Park at 8:00 AM) and/or through contributing any amount to help us meet our fundraising goal via this webpage: mothersdaywalk4peace.org/teamdrewkeegan
This Mother's Day Walk for Peace team page is dedicated to our beloved son, Andrew “Drew” Keegan—also beloved brother, grandson, nephew, godson, cousin, colleague, and treasured friend. We deeply miss Drew's physical presence in our lives. Our deep grief since he was tragically murdered in August 2020 continues. Amidst this anguish and sorrow we focus on love and light as we carry Drew in our hearts. We are committed to navigating our grief journey with love and compassion.
The LDB Peace Institute's mission as a Center of Healing, Teaching, and Learning is to respond compassionately and equitably to survivor families and communities impacted by homicide--and burdened with accompanying grief, trauma, criminal court proceedings, etc. It is unfathomable pain. In addition to the core work of supporting survivors of murdered loved ones, LDBPI works tirelessly to disrupt cycles of retaliatory violence through 1) peace education programs (Generation Peace) for children and adolescents, 2) personalized training and education for response teams (professionals and volunteers), 3) advocating for policies that promote dignity for all families impacted by murder, and much more... We are forever grateful for the compassionate support LDBPI staff have offered my family over the past 2 1/2 years.
Please also consider sharing this page with your family and friends, and inviting them to participate, either by walking on that day and/or contributing to the LDB Peace Institute through our fundraising page. Every dollar we raise will advance LDBPI's vitally important work, especially their program support for families and friends impacted by homicide.
Many thanks for considering our invitation.
With gratitude and love,
Deborah Donahue-Keegan (Drew's Mama) - on behalf of Drew's loving family and friends
