Hi! I'm Taylor, a member of our Production and Storytelling department, and I'm running the Boston Marathon this year for the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute.
One of my life goals has always been to complete a marathon! I began running last year as a New Year’s Resolution with my best friend to train towards a half marathon. What started out as a joke became a big part of my daily routine and I ended up running the Honolulu Marathon last December.
I’ve found that running can be a form of mindfulness, and it’s really become a self care habit for me. Getting outside and doing something active every day has been really good for my mental (and physical) health!
I’m excited to run for the Peace Institute because they’re my second family. I have received their love and compassion, and witnessed it with survivors. I run with the principle of Unity in my heart — for all the amazing people that have cheered me on!
I'm also running in memory of Kurtland Ma, a family friend who was taken from us way too soon.
Please consider making a donation in support of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute as I train for this big race :)
